What Local SCADA does

Inavitas Local SCADA is an on-premise platform for solar, wind, and hybrid plants. It connects inverters, transformers, meters, and protection devices into a single view for production, alarms, and grid-side measurements.
Operators get custom dashboards, single-line diagrams, and alarms they can acknowledge in real time and take remote actions when needed, even if the internet connection is down.

Local SCADA stores high-resolution data for analysis, supports grid-code compliance, and securely shares key KPIs with Central SCADA and APM when connected.

Why local SCADA

Key benefits

Local SCADA helps plant teams move from fragmented tools to one reliable control system at the site level.

100% local & always available

Run SCADA on-site, with no dependency on cloud services, so plants stay operable even with poor connectivity or telecom outages.

Real-time monitoring & control

Get instant visibility into active power, reactive power, status, and alarms for every device. Operators can act immediately to prevent faults and protect production.

Lower operational effort

Built-in automation, templates, and time-series history reduce manual work, simplify root-cause analysis, and make compliance and audit reporting much easier.

Optimized plant performance

Local SCADA ensures grid-code compliance, coordinating with PPC and protection, and using smart controls to reduce losses and increase uptime.
Process

How Local SCADA works in practice

Deploy & connect devices

Install Local SCADA at the plant, connect inverters, transformers, meters, PPC, and protection devices using standard energy protocols. Import one-line diagrams and layout maps to build your model.

Monitor, automate & operate

Use dashboards and alarms to watch production in real time, trigger automatic commands, and run safe operating scenarios. Operators acknowledge events, adjust limits, and switch between modes from a single interface.

Analyse, report & share

Time-series historian data feeds performance analysis, KPI tracking, and compliance reports. When connected, Local SCADA shares data and KPIs with Central SCADA, APM, and other inavitas systems for fleet-level decision-making.
Why local SCADA

Key capabilities at a glance

Real-time monitoring

Instant access to critical plant data, alarms, and operating states for every connected device.

Historian database

Store and analyse large volumes of historical data for performance tracking, audits, and regulatory reporting.

Advanced visualization

Custom dashboards, intuitive single-line diagrams, and geographic or layout views (strings, turbines, feeders) that make faults and trends easy to spot.

Built-in industry protocol support

Native support for IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA and more, so Local SCADA can work with existing field devices and third-party systems.

Systematic approach

Part of one unified system

Local SCADA is one of the core building blocks of the inavitas energy management platform. It can operate fully on its own at the plant, or together with:

  • APM for long-term asset performance, analytics, and maintenance insights.
  • PPC and EMS to coordinate power control and energy storage at the site.

This way you get the flexibility to choose: a purely local, licensed solution, a cloud-centric architecture, or a hybrid model that combines the best of both.
